8RLIC Invitation

We are inviting you to attend the 8th Rizal Library International Conference, with the theme Game Changer: The Role of Organizations, Librarians, and Influencers in Nation Building, which will be held at Leong Hall, Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City, Philippines, on 17-19 October 2019.

The three keynote speakers will be:

Peter Sidorko, who is currently the University Librarian at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and has enjoyed a career in academic libraries spanning thirty-five years. His research interests include library management and leadership, user behaviors, information literacy, and learning spaces. His interest in effective management and leadership in libraries led to the establishment of the University of Hong Kong’s Annual Library Leadership Institute in 2003, aimed at developing leadership qualities in Asian librarians.

Gulcin Cribb, is the University Librarian at Singapore Management University since 2012. She is also a member of the IFLA Standing Committee for Academic and Research Libraries. Gulcin also has extensive experience in the areas of research support, publishing, digitization, technology management, strategic management, innovation, learning spaces, information literacy, library-faculty-industry partnerships, marketing, and virtual libraries.

Arch. William Ti, Jr., is the founder of WTA Architecture and Design Studio established in 2007.  William is a strong advocate of social architecture that promotes a more humanist and socially relevant practice of architecture. As a firm believer in sustainable planning and the advantages of urban living, he tries to imagine a better-curated more design-focused society where beautiful things and pleasant environments are ubiquitous, even in the densest city centers.

The conference seeks to cultivate discourses on the various functions and significant roles of “transformational game changers,” who serves as catalysts for the development of libraries in relation to nationalism and culture in the local and global contexts.

Take an active part in this game changing event as we try to explore the possibilities, communicate differences, and unite in providing positive steps geared toward nation building.

  2. Communicate: Marketing and Social Media for Libraries, and Embracing Diversity and Fostering Inclusivity
