9th RLIC Call for Papers

CALL FOR PAPERS

The 9th Rizal Library International Conference—with the theme, “MindSHIFT: LAMs in a VUCA World”—will be held at the Leong Hall Auditorium, Ateneo de Manila University, on October 11-13, 2023.

The pandemic we all experienced over the past two years was difficult, even traumatic, but even though we are now slowly getting used to our new normal, our world today remains Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA).

This year, the main objective of #9thRLIC is to foster discourses on how we who work in Libraries, Archives, and Museums (LAMs) can thrive in a VUCA environment by adapting to the evolving needs of our communities as we strive for sustainable development. To make this transition, our LAMs must undertake a paradigm shift by advancing capabilities, creating transformations, and exploring new possibilities.

We welcome papers on the following topics:

Advancing Capabilities: Digital Transformation, Information Literacy, Collection Development, and Management, or Workplace 2.0

Creating Transformations: Leadership or Design Thinking

Exploring Possibilities: Sustainable Development, Industrial Revolution 5.0, or Open Access Movement

Paper proposals should include the following:

1. Name/s of author/s

2. Title

3. Topic (i.e., Advancing Capabilities, Creating Transformations, or Exploring Possibilities)

4. Extended Abstract (maximum of 400 words; should include Introduction, Purpose of Research, Methodology, Findings, and Conclusion)

5. Curriculum vitae with photo (indicate achievements and/or publications within the last 5 years)

All proposals should be emailed to conference.rl.ls@ateneo.edu.

Deadline for submission of proposals: April 16, 2023
