Cataloging

The Cataloging Section is located on the 5th floor of the First Pacific Hall (New Rizal Library), to the right of the staircase. A visit is welcome from those interested in the cataloging system used by the library, or the card catalogs used in earlier times, which are still housed in this section.

As part of the Library Technical Services, this section organizes the library resources through metadata management (i.e., descriptive cataloging, subject analysis, and classification).

It also labels the library materials and maintains the cataloging system (i.e., OPAC, card catalog).  Moreover, it is one of the destinations for benchmarking from different libraries and librarians for cataloging practices and facilities.
 

Offered Services:

• Generate subject bibliographies for faculty members and departments
• Accommodate rush processing of in-process materials needed by the library clientele
