Reference and Information Services

This section is located on the ground floor of the First Pacific Hall (New Rizal Library). Students, faculty, and researchers who are looking for material that cannot be found in the Rizal Library or just want to have a bird’s eye view of their research are welcome to go to this section. It houses the reference books (dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, almanacs, yearbooks, etc.) that are accessible to all.

This section also aims to assist and equip library users in navigating the library’s sections and maximizing its resources. Aside from providing technical support for online database access, this section also conducts library orientation and maintains connections with Ateneans through various online media (Facebook, Twitter, Email, and Chat). It also contacts similar institutions offering information services and endorses Ateneans who want to visit these institutions.
 

Offered Services:

• Provides section referrals for readers and researchers in search of something specific
• Accommodates reference-related questions in person or through electronic mail [rizal.library.ls@ateneo.edu(link sends e-mail)], Facebook (Rizal Library), or Twitter (Rizal_Library)
• Manages the Document Delivery Service (Document Delivery Service Request (link is external)) where request for materials available in other places can be made
• Assists in making bibliographies
• Provides in-depth research assistance by special appointment
• Provides endorsement letters for other libraries
• Helps to provide off-campus access to online database [go.ateneo.edu/RLOffCampusAccess]
• Assists in using Turnitin
